Creating web pages Monash environment

One day program

Target group:	Academic and general staff responsible for maintaining content on the web for sites that have not transferred to the TeamSite - content management system This does cover use of WebCT
Group size:	Minimum 5 - Maximum 10
Prerequisites:	View an example of the web site that will be developed during the course at http://staging-www.monash.edu.au/sdu/web/training-demo/ Essential Reading from University web style guide Designing content pages Page layout Page titles File & Directory names Writing for the Web Accessibility standards Publishing in formats other than HTML Staff must have experience in: navigating around files and folders Managing document layout using templates and styles

Aim:

To provide the skills and knowledge to create web pages for the Monash environment using FrontPage 2003 or DreamWeaver MX.

Objectives:

On completion of this course participants should:

Be familiar with the design and technical components of the Monash Web templates
Be familiar with basic editing functions in FrontPage 2003 or DreamWeaver MX
Be able to create Web pages using the Monash Web templates
Be able to convert Word documents in to Web pages
Be able to publish web page files on the Monash web server using WinSCP
