One day program

Target group:Academic and general staff who are interested in learning how to use Microsoft Excel 2003
Group size:Minimum 5 - Maximum 12
Level 3 program:
  • Use of Windows operating system and working with files and folders.
  • Completion of Excel Level 1 or Level 2 or similar knowledge

It is encouraged that staff complete this quiz. The aim of the quiz is for staff to verify that they have the fundamental knowledge expected of them before undertaking the Excel level 3 course.

Course Content

On completion of this course participants will be able to:

  • nest functions to create complex functions
  • use advanced filters to analyse data in a list
  • use a variety of data validation techniques
  • create, use and modify data tables
  • create and work with scenarios and the Scenario Manager
  • create, modify and work with PivotTables
  • combine data in separate worksheets or workbooks using consolidation
  • use linking to create more efficient workbooks
  • create recorded macros in Excel
  • use the macro recorder to create a variety of macros
  • confidently open workbooks that contain macros
