Overview

This is a day for people wishing to identify, assess and pursue a truly fulfilling career path. Participants will build both belief in their own abilities, confidence to pursue future plans and the steps to pursue them. Vocational typing is used to assist in identifying skills and career areas with the potential for fulfilment. Current and previous vocational decisions will also be assessed, as will potential blocks to future career directions. The day will also cover tools for pursuing desired steps such as identifying and presenting transferable skills, resume design, application letters and interviews. This can be a challenging and rewarding day for those who want to empower themselves to achieve their passions.

  • Analysis of personal vocational decision making: past choices
  • An understanding of personal job satisfaction: values, preferences and job stress
  • Identification of vocational type, personal skills and career suitability
  • Knowledge of changing work environments and selection techniques
  • Assessment of future steps, obstacles and methods of transition
  • Clear understanding of best presentation of resumes and written applications

Learning Approach

This workshop presents the opportunity to properly reflect and consider career paths, steps and possibilities. It is a combination of self analysis and concrete methods, and staff are invited to participate in whatever way they find most beneficial.
