DisciplineStudent discipline is governed by Statute 4.1 - Discipline. The statute deals with two kinds of misconduct: General misconductGeneral misconduct is any behaviour in relation which is contrary to a policy of the university or to generally accepted standards of behaviour and includes behaviour which attacks, harass, intimidates, threatens or endangers others. Academic misconductAcademic misconduct is cheating, attempting to cheat or assisting a fellow student to cheat, or submission of similar work. Any means used to obtain an unfair advantage in work submitted for assessment may be considered as cheating. Examples include cheating in examinations, plagiarism, submitting a false medical certificate in support of an application for special consideration or submitting work which was previously submitted for assessment at Monash or another university.
